Configuring Portal Languages in the Returns Portal

Updated Sep 29, 2026

Use the Languages settings to control which language options appear in your returns portal and how each one is labeled. Configure these when you want to change the display name of a language or, on the Advanced plan, offer customers more than one language.

Where to find it

Go to Returns Portal > General > Languages.

Prerequisites

To make more than one language active at a time, you need the advanced plan. On lower plans you can still rename and switch the single active language, but only one language can be active at a time.

Set it up

  1. Open the Languages section. Each language row has a selector (a radio button or a checkbox, depending on your plan) and an editable label field.
  2. Set each language's active state:
    • On non-Advanced plans, the selectors behave like radio buttons โ€” choosing one language makes it the single active language.
    • On the Advanced plan, the selectors are checkboxes, so you can turn several languages on at once.
  3. Edit the label field for any language to change the name customers see (for example, the placeholder reads "Enter language name"). By default the first language is labeled "๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง English" and is active, and the second is labeled "Your choice! ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ..." and is inactive.
  4. Keep at least one language active. If you try to remove the last active language, the change is rejected with an alert.

What changes when you turn this on

When you update a language's active state or label, the full languages array is saved back to your portal settings. On non-Advanced plans, the server enforces a single active language: if more than one would be active, the second language is forced inactive before saving, so exactly one option stays selected. Your edited labels are what render as the selectable language options in the customer-facing returns portal.

Plan requirements

Multiple active languages require the advanced plan. On non-Advanced plans you'll see an Upgrade to Advanced Plan for Multiple Languages button, which takes you to the subscription page to upgrade.
