Returns Portal Setup

Customize the Return Request Submit Button

Updated Sep 30, 2026

Use this settings group to control the primary submit action on the Return Request page of your customer-facing returns portal — the button label, the helper text beneath it, and the button's colors. Edit these when you want the submit step to match your brand's wording and colors.

Where to find it

Go to Returns Portal > Customize Portal > Return Request — Submit.

Prerequisites

The base fields (button text, helper text, and colors) are available to edit directly. Editing the second-language versions of the button text and helper text requires the Advanced plan and a second portal language selected in the Language Selector.

Set it up

  1. Button text — The label on the button customers click to submit their return request. This is the primary submit action on the Return Request page. Default: REQUEST RETURN.
  2. Button helper text — The reassurance or instruction shown directly beneath the submit button. Default: Your request will be submitted to us.
  3. Button background color — Sets the background color of the submit button. Default: #000.
  4. Button text color — Sets the color of the text on the submit button. Default: #fff.

As you edit each field, the Return Request — Submit preview updates to reflect your changes.

Second-language versions (Advanced plan)

With a second portal language selected in the Language Selector, you can also edit these values for that language:

  • Button text — The submit button label for the store's second portal language. Default: (Translate) REQUEST RETURN. If you leave this blank, the preview falls back to Submit Return Request.
  • Button helper text — The helper text beneath the submit button for the second language. Default: (Translate) Your request will be submitted to us.

What changes when you turn this on

Each field is saved to your shop's returns portal settings and applied to the live Return Request page: the button shows your chosen label, the helper text appears below it, and the button renders with your chosen background and text colors. The second-language values are stored separately and only apply when a second language is active. If the second-language button text is left blank, the preview and portal use Submit Return Request instead.

Plan requirements

Editing the second-language (translated) versions of the button text and helper text requires the Advanced plan. The base button text, helper text, and color fields have no plan requirement.
