Customizing the Returns Tracker Status Bar Labels
Updated Sep 30, 2026
The Returns Tracker Status Bar section lets you rename the heading and every stage label customers see while tracking a return, and lets you translate those labels into a second portal language. Use it when the default wording doesn't match your store's tone or when you support customers in more than one language.
Where to find it
Go to Returns Portal > Customize Portal > Returns Tracker — Status Bar.
Prerequisites
Editing the labels in your primary language requires no special plan. To edit the second-language versions of these labels (for example the translated Approved or Declined text), select the second language on the Customize Portal tab; those fields require the Advanced plan.
Set it up
Each label is a text field. Edit any field to override the default; if you clear a field, the tracker falls back to its built-in default value.
- Returns Tracker Heading — the main heading at the top of the Returns Tracker on the customer portal. Default:
Returns Tracker. - Status Text — the label that precedes the active status value (for example the
Status:prefix shown before the current stage). Default:Status:. - Requested Status Text — the first stage in the tracker's progress display. Default:
Requested. - Approved Status Text — the label for the Approved stage, also used as the active status label when the request is Approved. Default:
Approved. - Partially Approved Status Text — the label for a partially approved return. Default:
Partially Approved. - Inspected Status Text — the label for the Inspected stage, also used as the active status when the request is Inspected. Default:
Inspected. - Resolved Status Text — the label for the final, completed stage. Default:
Resolved. - Declined Status Text — the label shown when a request has been declined. Default:
Declined. - Cancelled Request Text — the label shown when a request has been cancelled. Default:
Cancelled Request.
To translate these for a second language, select the second language on the Customize Portal tab and edit the same fields. Their defaults are placeholder strings such as (Translate) Approved, (Translate) Requested, and (Translate) Returns Tracker, which you should replace with real translations.
Use the Preview status selector in this section to switch between stages (Requested, Approved, Inspected, Resolved, Declined, Cancelled) and see how each label renders in the live status bar.
What changes when you turn this on
Each field writes to the Returns Tracker's custom text. When the tracker renders, it uses your value for each stage and falls back to the built-in default if the value is empty — for example the heading falls back to Returns Tracker, the status prefix to Status:, and each stage to its default name. When you select the second language, the same fields write to the second-language text set, so your translated labels apply only when the second portal language is active.
Plan requirements
The primary-language labels are available on all plans. The second-language versions of every field in this section require the Advanced plan.
