Set Up the Custom Product Picker for Quick Exchanges

Use the custom product picker when your staff build exchange orders inside Exchange It but don't have the Shopify "Products" store permission. It gives them an app-native way to choose replacement products, with an option to hide certain tagged products from that picker.
Where to find it
Go to Settings > Quick Exchanges > Exchange Order > Product Picker.
Prerequisites
- To hide tagged products, you must first turn on Activate the custom product picker — the tag-hiding option stays disabled until then.
- To enter tags to hide, you must first turn on Hide tagged products from the custom product picker — the tag field stays disabled until then.
Set it up
- Activate the custom product picker — Enables the app's own product picker for building exchange orders, which is useful when shop staff use the app without the Shopify "Products" store permission enabled. Default: off.
- Hide tagged products from the custom product picker — Hides any product carrying the tags you specify from the custom picker. This checkbox is disabled until the custom product picker is active. Default: off.
- Product tags to be hidden for the custom product picker — Lists the product tags you want to exclude from the picker. This field is disabled until the previous checkbox is on. Use a comma to add multiple tags, for example
bundle,kit,draft. Default: empty.
How these settings work together
- Turning on Activate the custom product picker unlocks Hide tagged products from the custom product picker — the checkbox is disabled while the picker is off.
- Turning on Hide tagged products from the custom product picker unlocks the Product tags to be hidden for the custom product picker field — the field is disabled while tag hiding is off.
What changes when you turn this on
Each setting is saved to your shop's app settings and read back when the app loads: whether the custom picker is active, whether tag-based hiding is applied, and the list of tags to hide. Once the picker is active and tag hiding is enabled with one or more tags, products carrying those tags are excluded from the custom product picker your staff use to build exchange orders. Tags entered in the field are validated for length and special characters before they are saved.
