Setting the Exchange Fee Product
Updated Sep 29, 2026
Use this setting to pick the Shopify product that represents your exchange fee, so the app has a real line item to charge when an exchange fee applies.
Where to find it
Go to Settings > Exchange Requests > Exchange Options and open the Fees > Exchange Fee section.
Prerequisites
Before selecting a product, create the product you want to use as the fee in your Shopify admin (for example, a product named "Exchange Processing Fee" priced at $15). The Select Product button stays disabled until the exchange fee option is turned on (or a product has already been chosen), so enable the exchange fee first.
Set it up
- Create your fee product in Shopify (e.g. "Exchange Processing Fee" for $15).
- In the Exchange Fee product (Select Product) field, click Select Product to open the resource picker.
- Choose your fee product. Once selected, it appears as a removable tag beneath the button. The default value is empty (no product selected).
- To change your choice, remove the current product using the tag's remove control, then select a different one.
- Save your settings. Saving is blocked if the exchange fee is enabled but no product is selected, so make sure a product tag is showing before you save.
What changes when you turn this on
Selecting a product stores that product's admin URL in the exchange fee configuration (the field holds an array and defaults to empty). This stored URL is what the app uses to add the exchange fee as a line item on exchange requests. Removing the product clears it from the stored list, and the tag disappears.
Plan requirements
No plan restriction is specified for this setting.
